TIP
ABOUT TITLE IX Title IX is a federal law established in 1972 that prohibits sex discrimination in education.
In 2014, the law was amended to include sexual violence against women. At Chico State, we believe it’s everyone’s responsibility to contribute to the safety of the entire college community. Together, we can make a positive difference toward securing a respectful learning environment, where no one is unlawfully excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or subjected to discrimination in any college program or activity on the basis of sex or gender.
SAFE PLACE Safe Place is a campus-based program to provide support services to individuals victimized by violence. Services are confidential and available for all students. To contact Safe Place, call (530) 898-3030.
TITLE IX TRAINING All California State University (CSU) students are required to complete Title IX training in
a system-wide effort to ensure that all CSU students
are provided a safe learning environment. At Chico
State this training takes the form of a video-based
sexual misconduct prevention program called Not Anymore. The program is designed to help you prevent and appropriately respond to sexual misconduct, and includes critical information to help you understand what to watch out for, how to protect yourself, how to step
in if needed, and how to file a complaint or a report. Questions regarding the Not Anymore training should be directed to the Title IX Coordinator at (530) 898-4949.
