OUR TIME CAPSULES
Visitors to Kendall Hall will notice the 60 (and counting!) class year plaques along the walkway. Beginning in 1931, seniors added time capsules to commemorate each class, a tradition that continues today. Graduating classes hold a burial ceremony before Commencement in the spring, to open them 50 years later. Originally placed to spell out “CSC” for Chico State College, the design was updated to spell “CSU Chico” and make way for even more capsules. It will be completed with the Class of 2060!
