approved Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program. The ECC ADN program is offered on two campuses: El Camino College and Compton College. Although the nursing program is offered on two different campuses, the programs operate as one nursing program. Students are provided with skills needed to enter the nursing profession in a variety of health care settings as an entry-level registered nurse. Degree competence is assessed regularly by evaluations of expected learning outcomes in the clinical setting as well as during course examinations; Emphasis is placed on the use of critical thinking and creative problem-solving within the program. The ECC ADN program consists of four semesters; successful completion of the program allows the graduate to sit for the State of California National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) examination.
The Compton Community College District and Charles R. Drew University (CDU) have a multifaceted partnership designed in part to benefit Compton College students through a transfer pathway program for those interested in careers in the biomedical science fields. The partnership encourages a smooth transfer from Compton College to Charles R. Drew University, leading to an early completion of undergraduate education at CDU in various health and science disciplines. Compton College students concurrently take
CDU prerequisite courses and continue for one more year at CDU to receive the baccalaureate degree of their choice.
All Nursing Orientation sessions will be held in the Administration Building Boardroom. Students are only required to attend one orientation, and it must be completed before applying to the nursing program.
For more information about our Nursing Orientations, please call 310-900-1600, ext. 2700 or visit the office in Building B.
