ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY COUNCIL
The Compton College Associated Student Body Council is comprised of 11 officers elected each year by the student population. Through weekly meetings, which are open to all students, the council determines how fees will be used, coordinates campus activities and represents student views on important issues of the campus.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
To become eligible to hold office in any campus organization, a student must:
• Be enrolled in 12 class hours per week;
• Have a minimum 2.0 grade point average; and
• Have completed fewer than 70 units of community college work.
Below is a list of some of the clubs at Compton College:

Classrooms and other meeting places must be scheduled one week in advance by written request to the Business Office. You may book rooms by calling 310-900-1600, ext. 9073, and meetings must be registered on the master calendar in the Student Life Office.
Want to start your own club?
To start a new club on campus, students must request a petition from the Student Life Office and the Associated Student Body Council.
All campus clubs and organizations must honor the Student Organization Regulations:
• Theclubshallbecomposedentirelyofregularstudentbodymembers.
• Membersmustbeeligibleinaccordancewithcollegeeligibilitystandards.
• Clubs and organizations shall have a faculty adviser approved by the college administration.
• Allmeetingsshallbeheldoncampus,withexceptionsforspecialevents.
• Members shall be chosen without regard for race, religion, age, sex, color, gender,
physical or mental disability or national origin.
• Clubs shall have established educational, cultural and social aims, while being compatible with college and community interest.
• A written club constitution approved by the Associated Student Body Council and the director of student life shall be on file in the Student Life Office.
