                Personal Responsibility for Online Statements
FVTC values the constitutionally protected right to free speech and the College’s tradition of academic freedom. However, with these freedoms comes responsibility for what is said and written. If you defame someone online or invade a person’s privacy, you may be held legally liable. All electronic communica- tions must be conducted responsibly and in a way that favorably reflects on the College.
Disciplinary Action
Violations of policies that constitute a breach of the General and Academic Behavior Policy will be re- ferred to the College’s Conduct Manager. Disciplinary action up to and including suspension from FVTC and either criminal and/or a civil suit could be taken against individuals who violate the above stated policies.
Non-Academic Conduct
The Code of Conduct - General applies to behaviors that take place on any campus, at Fox Valley Tech- nical College-sponsored events, Fox Valley Technical College-affiliated housing,and may also apply off-campus when the Associate Vice President for Student Services or designee determines that the off-campus conduct affects a substantial Fox Valley Technical College interest.
FVTC considers behaviors described in the Code of Coduct as innappropriate for the FVTC learning community and in opposition to the mission, vision and values of the College.
