                GED/HSED (General Educational Development or High School
Equivalency Diploma):
The program provides advisement, assessment, and educational planning assistance for adults seeking a GED, HSED, or Adult High School diploma. The program offers courses in basic, developmental, and pre-technical skills in the areas of English, health, math, reading, science, writing, and study skills. Courses are available at convenient locations and in a variety of formats including classrooms, labs where instructors work one-on-one with students and online. Grades
Grades are assigned to report student academic achievement. Instructors inform students at the beginning of the semester about the course requirements and evaluation criteria. Any time students are unsure of their progress, they should contact their instructor. Students may review their grades at MyFVTC by clicking on grades. Final grades are recorded on permanent transcripts at the end of each course.

Incompletes or Extensions
If a student becomes ill or, some other unforeseen emergency arises and course requirements cannot be completed in the allotted time, the student should contact the instructor(s) as soon as possible. At the discretion of the instructor, the student may be given an extension to complete the assigned work. If an extension was granted, you will have up to 90 days to complete the course. Graduation
A student is eligible for graduation from Fox Valley Technical College’s associate degree and technical diploma programs when they have fulfilled all requirements. For the complete policy, visit www.fvtc.edu/ myfvtc/graduation-requirements
Graduating with Honors
Graduates who complete all the required courses in his/her program and achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above (based on a 4.0 system) by the college designated date will graduate with honors. A fall and spring commencement program is scheduled each year.
Program Preparation Courses
Program Prep courses are designed to prepare students for success in subsequent academic coursework. These courses are collegiate in terms of the level of expectations for students. Most Program Prep courses are credit-bearing, tuition-bearing, financial aidable and are not applied to program completion requirements.
