Welcome Gators! The Student Affairs team is excited you chose Green River College to further your education. We’re happy to welcome you (new and returning students) as part of our Gator family! As you choose your classes (don’t forget to work with an academic advisor), increase your knowledge (by consistently attending all of your classes), and access services (see all of the resources available to you listed in this handbook), we hope you feel a sense of belonging and connection to your Gator community. Your educational journey in college includes an amazing melding of academic and social experiences, and Green River College is a place for you to learn, grow and thrive! Our primary responsibility is to help ensure you benefit from our campus resources, support services, and educational programs – meaning, we’re here for YOU! One of our many College core values focuses on student success and is our highest priority for all students. We want you to take advantage of the services within Student Affairs and throughout the College. Collectively, we are committed to seeing you excel academically, professionally, and socially. This handbook is a resource designed to help make connections with the Green River community, including participation in Campus Life leadership opportunities, student government, recreation and athletics, professional societies, cultural organizations, clubs, and so many different events, activities, and programs. Use this handbook as it is a useful resource and reference to aid you on your journey at Green River College. We encourage you to use the Student Handbook to keep track of your schedule, look up services and know deadlines and when activities and events are happening so you can take full advantage of your time as a Gator! You have many opportunities to fill your college experience with amazing, unique, and fun experiences. Also, there will be many events/activities that are created that aren’t yet in this handbook. Make sure you make sure to check the email you've provided in ctcLink and stay informed about all the ways you can get involved and to know everything you can participate in as a student!
