Parent Portal allows parents to see the following:
1. Student’s schedule
2. Student’s attendance
3. Any grades entered into teacher’s grade book
4. Any comments entered for grades by teachers
5. Final grades
6. E-mail notification options
Students are able to access the same information as parents through Student Portal and are encouraged to check their progress and grades frequently to ensure academic success.
Professional Qualifications
As a parent of a student at James F. Byrnes High School, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the teachers and instructional assistants who instruct your child. Professional qualifications include:
● Licensing criteria for the grade level/subject areas in which instruction is provided.
● The baccalaureate degree major.
● Graduate certification or degree held and the field or discipline of the certification.
● The qualifications of teacher assistants, if the child is provided instructional services by them.
A parent who wishes to inquire about the qualifications of his/her child’s teacher or instructional assistant should make a written request to the school principal. The inquiry may address only the qualifications listed above.
Public Relations Release
Occasionally our students, faculty, and staff may be photographed, interviewed, and/or identified for publication, broadcast, transmission, and/or electronic display by the news media or school and district public relations officials. All releases will be performed in accordance with school district policy and privacy laws. As required, only directory type information will be provided. This includes name,
school, grade level, teacher, participation in officially recognized activities, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school principal.
