The ASLC is home to Associated Students (A.S.), student government organization that represents the student body as one of the shared governance bodies of the College. Their vision is to cultivate leaders who advocate for an equitable world. Students are encouraged to join A.S. by taking on a leadership position within one of the bodies, serve on a campus wide committee, and attend a Public Open Meeting during the Fall and Spring semesters in the A.S. Council Room Building 410 Room 2020. Visit us in the ASLC to learn more about getting involved!
A.S. is made up of three (3) branches who all work together to check and balance each other.
• Executive Board – The executive branch consists of 6 elected positions and 3 ex-officio members: President, Vice President, Senate Chairs (2), ICC Co-Chairs, (2) ICC Secretary (ex-officio), Chief of Staff (ex-officio), Student Trustee (ex-officio)
• Senate – The legislative branch consists of 16 appointed senators in the following areas: Academic, Activities (2), Arts, Athletics, Campus Community, Cross-Cultural, Elections, Environmental, Faculty Relations, Finance, Inter Club Council, Political, Publicity, STEM, and Student Services
• Student Court – The judicial branch consists of 5 appointed justices: Chief Justice (1) and Associate Justice (4)
Campus Wide Committees – The A.S. President is responsible for appointing students to serve on college committees with faculty, staff, and administrators to ensure students have a voice in decision making processes on campus. To learn more about college-wide committees visit: www.mtsac.edu/as.
Student Activities Fee – The $15 Student Activities Fee allows your student government to provide scholarships, leadership opportunities, cultural events, funding for student events and many other co-curricular programs and services for students.
Student Representation Fee – The $2 Student Representation Fee is mandated by Assembly Bill 1504 and provides student government representatives the ability to state their positions and viewpoints before city, county, district, state, and federal governments.

The Recognized Student Clubs and Organizations (RSCO) Co-Lab Space is home of the Inter-Club Council (ICC). Students can get information on RSCOs and RSCO officers can utilize the space and workroom for RSCO projects.
Information and advisement, Free Speech Information, Civic Engagement Information, Board Games, Outdoor Foosball & Table Tennis Check-Out, and a Mountie Fresh Snack Rack.
Free Speech – Mt. SAC is a public college who recognizes and respects the First Amendment which protects freedoms of speech, religion, assembly, press, and the right to petition under the U.S. Bill of Rights. Visitors often exercise their First Amendment on campus. Their messages and viewpoints are not sponsored or supported by the Student Life Office or
the College. Visitors are asked to complete a Check-In Form to provide all the College with an awareness of individuals present in cases of campus wide emergencies. For more information or to report a concern regarding a Free Speech visitor contact (909) 274-5959.
