                Umoja-Tumaini Program (LA-150)
 Tumaini is Swahili for hope.
The Tumaini Program is a learning community
  designed to increase academic and personal success, and promote transfer
 to four-year colleges and universities. Tumaini targets students who are
 interested in learning about African-American history, literature, and culture.
 Tumaini instructors and counselors use collaborative and other community
 building strategies to enhance students' learning potential in and out of the
 classroom. The Program will combine elements of counseling and other
 courses (English, Math) to assist students with the rigors of college life.
 Tumaini is open to all students.

Veteran's Resource Center (CC 133)
San Bernardino Valley College (SBVC) Veteran’s Resource Center (Campus Center, Room 133) provides assistance to veterans for the following benefit programs:
• Chapter 30 – Active Duty Educational Assistance Program.
• Chapter 31 – Veteran’s Administration Vocational Rehabilitation.
• Chapter 33 – Post-9/11 GI Bill.
• Chapter 33TR – Post-9/11 GI Bill Transfer to VA Dependents.
• Chapter 35 – Survivors and Dependents Educational Assistance
Program.
• Chapter 1606 – Selected Reserve Educational Assistance Program.
VRC resources include:
TV/Lounge Access, Computer/Printer Access (free limited printing), Test Taking Materials (scantron, green-book, pencils, pens etc...), On-Site Education Counselor (Veteran/Dependent), Two Admissions & Records Reps (Jason Alvarez & Nicholas Chavez), and a Wellness Counselor
