                Conduct Board shall determine (by majority vote if the Student Conduct Board consists of more than one person) whether the accused student violated the section of this Student Conduct Code which the student is charged with violating.
x. The Student Conduct Board’s determination shall be made on the basis of whether it is more likely than not that the accused student violated this Stu- dent Conduct Code.
E. There shall be a single verbatim record, such as a tape recording, of all Student Conduct Board hearings before a Student Conduct Board (not including deliber- ations). The record shall be the property of the District.
F. No student may be found to have violated this Student Conduct Code because the student failed to appear before a Student Conduct Board. In all cases, the evi- dence and support of the charges shall be presented and considered.
G. The Student Conduct Board may accommodate con- cerns for the personal safety, well-being, and/or fears of confrontation of the complainant, accused student, and/or other witness during the hearing by providing separate facilities, by using a visual screen, and/or by permitting participation by telephone, videophone, closed circuit television, video conferencing, videotape, audio tape, written statement, or other means, where and as determined in the sole judgment of the college official responsible for administration of the Student Conduct Code.
2. Sanctions
C. The following sanctions may be imposed upon any student found to have violated the Student Conduct Code:
i. i. Warning - a written notice to the student that the student is violating or has violated institutional rules or regulations.
ii. Probation - a written reprimand for violation of specified rules or regulations. Probation is for a designated period of time and includes the probability of more severe disciplinary sanctions if the student is found to violate any institutional rules or regulation(s) during the probationary period.
iii. Loss of Privileges - denial of specified privileges for a designated period of time.
iv. Restitution - compensation for loss, damage or injury. This may take the form of appropriate service and/or monetary or material replacement.
v. Discretionary Sanctions - work assignments, essays, service to the college, or other related discretionary assignments. (Such assignments
must have the prior approval of the Student Conduct Administrator.)
vi. College Suspension - separation of the student from all the colleges in the District for a definite period of time, after which the student is
eligible to return. Conditions for readmission may be specified.
vii. College Expulsion - permanent separation of the student from all the
colleges in the District.
B. B. More than one of the sanctions listed above may be imposed for any
single violation.
