MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY
The Medical Laboratory Technology curriculum prepares individuals to perform clini- cal laboratory procedures in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunohematol- ogy that may be used in the maintenance of health and diagnosis/treatment of disease.
Course work emphasizes mathematical and scienti c concepts related to specimen collection, laboratory testing and procedures, quality assurance and reporting/recording and interpreting ndings involving tissues, blood, and body uids.
Graduates may be eligible to take the examinations given by the Board of Certi ca- tion of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. Employment opportunities include laboratories in hospitals, medical of ces, industry, and research facilities.

2. Students who can provide documentation of current national certi cation in Phlebotomy (e.g., ASCP BOC) may be waived from MLT 253.
3. *Spring Semester 2, the student will spend the full 16 weeks (39 hours/week) in clinical rotations along with completing the MLT 215 course (1 hour/week) online.
