GERONTOLOGY
GRO 120 Gerontology (3-0-0-3)
This course covers the psychological, social, and physical aspects of aging. Emphasis is placed on the factors that promote mental and physical well-being. Upon completion, stu- dents should be able to recognize the aging process and its psychological, social, and physical aspects.
HEALTH
HEA 110 Personal Health and Wellness (3-0-3) Prerequisite: DRE 098
This course provides an introduction to basic personal health and wellness. Emphasis is placed on current health issues such as nutrition, mental health, and  tness. Upon comple- tion, students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the factors necessary to the maintenance of health and wellness. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.

HIS 111 World Civilizations I (3-0-3) Prerequisite: College-ready English Placement
This course introduces world history from the dawn of civilization to the early modern era. Topics include Eurasian, African, American, and Greco-Roman civilizations and Christian, Islamic and Byzantine cultures. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze signi - cant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in pre-modern world civilizations. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Social/Behavioral Sciences.
HIS 112 World Civilizations II (3-0-3)
Prerequisite: College-ready English Placement
This course introduces world history from the early modern era to the present. Top-
ics include the cultures of Africa, Europe, India, China, Japan, and the Americas. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze signi cant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in modern world civilizations. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Social/Behavioral Sciences.
HIS 121 Western Civilization I (3-0-3)
Prerequisite: College-ready English Placement
This course introduces western civilization from pre-history to the early modern era. Topics
include ancient Greece, Rome, and Christian institutions of the Middle Ages and the emer- gence of national monarchies in western Europe. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze signi cant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in early western civilization. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA as a general education course in Social/Behavioral Sciences.
HIS 122 Western Civilization II (3-0-3)
Prerequisite: College-ready English Placement
This course introduces western civilization from the early modern era to the present.
Topics include the religious wars, the Industrial Revolution, World Wars I and II, and the Cold War.
