Students demonstrate engagement in the learning process.
To demonstrate engagement in the learning process, students should:
• Take personal responsibility for and be actively involved in the learning process • Be present and prepared for class
• Bring appropriate materials to class
• Complete assignments on time
• Be attentive and participate in all class activities
• Engage and collaborate with peers through study groups and the sharing of
personal contact information
• Ask questions when appropriate • Ask for help when needed
Students demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality.
To demonstrate appropriate attendance and punctuality, students should:
• Attend all meetings of each class
• Be on time and ready to work
• Remain in class for the duration of the period, except in cases of emergency or
approved class breaks
• Know and adhere to instructors’ attendance policies
Students demonstrate respect for self and others in the learning environment.
To demonstrate respect for self and others, students should:
• Demonstrate respect for instructors and classmates by talking when appropriate • Keep discussions relevant to class material
• Demonstrate appropriate classroom etiquette
• Observe college and classroom policies regarding cell phone use, smoking,
parking, eating, etc.
• Turn off all personal communication devices, unless appropriate to the class
activities or approved by the instructor • Respect classroom equipment
Students demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and professionalism.
To demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and professionalism, students should:

• Demonstrate self-motivation • Not obsess about grades
• Do their own work
• Keep an open mind
• Meet class deadlines
