The Division of Student Affairs provides students with innovative programs, services, and facilities designed to support academic success, career preparation, and personal development. Students are challenged to build on their talents and en- hance their educational experience by engaging in programs and activities that help develop a global perspective, provide opportunities to engage in their community, build their professional readiness, and create lifelong learners. By doing so, they broaden their understanding of themselves and the world in which they live. UTEP students have
a proud history of helping to shape the University. Students make an impact by getting involved in campus life through the Student Government Association, one of more than 200 Registered Student Organizations, Fraternity & Sorority Life, on-campus employment, and volunteering for and participating in campus programs and events. Involvement also leads to opportunities to serve on campus advisory committees and task forces that shape new programs, services, and facilities for their fellow students. While helping to enhance campus life, they enhance their own communica- tion, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Students who get involved in campus life develop lifelong learning skills, a greater global awareness, healthy and balanced lifestyles, and a commitment to community service. They also prepare themselves to serve as leaders in their professional and civic communities after graduation.
