The University of Texas at El Paso. We’re glad you’re here.
UTEP is a gateway to life-changing opportunities, and you will thrive here if you do three things:
1. Work hard. Many of you are no strangers to hard work, but college can be a different kind of work. We’re here to help you learn good study habits, to master your course material, and to manage your time. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your advisors and professors when you have questions or need advice on how to get things done. It’s a life skill that will help you in the long term.
2. Get involved. Take advantage of the many opportunities we have here, whether that’s in student clubs, athletics, volunteering, study-abroad programs and much more. Be intentional about finding groups you like and to which you can contribute – it will make college more fun and serve you well.
3. Build relationships of trust. The people you meet at UTEP will become lifelong friends and colleagues. Being the kind of person who is reliable, who does what you say you are going to do, who does your best every day, and who tells the truth will serve you well in the long term.
