Pharmacy Road Map
Prerequisite Requirements
Prerequisite Requirements: Students generally take 2-4 years to complete the prerequisite course requirements and can be admitted to pharmacy school without a bachelor’s degree. Involvement in student organizations and community service is highly recommended to build a more competitive application.
Licensure
Licensure: Pharm.D. graduates must complete the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and MultiState Pharmacy Jurispru- dence Examination (MPJE) to be licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. The UTEP SoP provides preparation courses and exams to help students succeed in these tests.

Pharmacy School: The UTEP Pharm.D. program takes 4 years to complete and offers a unique curriculum focused on the school’s “IDEAL” vision. Pharmacy students are trained to be culturally competent, have opportunities to participate in innovative research, and engage in hands-on experiences in unique practice settings that prepare them to serve a 21st century demographic.

Optional Career Development
Optional Career Development:
Graduates of a Pharm.D. program can pursue Residency or Fellowship opportunities which provide postgraduate training aimed at specialized career fields. Graduates can also become Board Certified in a specialty area.
