                Title IX: Sexual Misconduct Policy Vincennes University Title IX Coordinator Reece Sorley: 812-888-4102 : TitleIX@vinu.edu Sexual Misconduct Policy In compliance with Title IX and the regulations promulgated thereunder, the Clery Act and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (“VAWA”), Vincennes University is committed to maintaining an educational and working environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex or gender, including sexual harassment, misconduct, and violence. Vincennes University does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs and activities, including employment and admission. Vincennes University is committed to treating all individuals who come upon its campuses with dignity, care, and respect. Any individual who experiences or is affected by discrimination, harassment or sexual misconduct, whether as a Complainant or a Respondent, may benefit from access to care and support resources through the University and the local community. The University encourages all individuals to seek the support of and use all available internal and external resources, regardless of when or where the incident occurred. When a complaint alleging a violation of this Policy is received by the Title IX Coordinator, the Coordinator shall promptly contact the Complainant directly to discuss the availability of Supportive Measures. These supportive measures are available to a Complainant or Respondent regardless of whether a formal complaint is filed. Supportive Measures include, but are not limited to: (i) counseling; (ii) extensions of deadlines or other course-related adjustments; (iii) modifications of work or class schedules; (iv) campus escort services; (v) mutual restrictions on contact between the parties; (vi) changes in work or housing locations; (vii) leaves of absence; and (viii) increased security and monitoring of certain areas of the campus. All Supportive Measures shall be implemented in a manner that preserves the confidentiality of the Complainant and Respondent to the extent maintaining such confidentiality does not impair the University’s ability to provide the Supportive Measures. Good Samaritan Hospital: 812-882-5220 Racial, Ethnic, and Religious Harassment Policy Vincennes University expects its campus community to respect the rights and dignity of all its members in matters of personnel consideration, admissions, or academic evaluation. Accordingly, the University expressly prohibits racial, ethnic, and religious harassment of its students, employees, and those who seek to join the campus community in any capacity. Racial, ethnic, and religious harassment shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Physical, psychological, verbal and/or written abuse with regard to race, creed, ethnic origin, or religion. (Examples would include unequal academic expectations, physical harm or threat of such harm, written abuse on papers or records, personal verbal insults, jokes based on a person’s race, ethnic, or religious affiliation.) 2. Any harassing activity (one time or multiple times) which acts to deny an individual the full rights and privileges which are inherent in living, studying, working and visiting on the campuses of Vincennes University. Persons participating in harassing activities as defined may be subject to disciplinary actions. Anyone having a complaint of racial, ethnic or religious harassment should notify either the University Police, the Dean of Students, or Director of Student Services (Jasper Campus).   3
