TESTING AND PLACEMENT CENTER

Center for Student Success (CSS Room 14) | (661) 395-4479
In compliance with AB705, all students enrolling at Bakersfield College in mathematics and English courses are placed based on their high school GPA and coursework for their best success. Students who did not complete at least 11th grade in a U.S. high school, graduates of a non-U.S. high school, or international students, will need to complete the Guided Self-Placement process. Students who speak a language other than English and feel they would benefit from taking classes in our English for Multilingual Students (EMLS), may choose to place into the EMLS sequence.
Upon reinstating on-site operations, the TAPC will provide testing student services to include the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams also known as credit-by-exam, noise-reduced and extended time tests for BC students with approved accommodations, commercial certification and licenses exams through national partners (Pearson VUE, Kryterion, Prometric, and Scantron), the US Constitution exam (for candidates pursuing a California Teaching Credential), and limited proctor required exams for online courses through the California Community Colleges Proctoring Network.
