Services Provided: We provide technical support and training for the student information system (SIS) and the geographical information system (GIS) for BCS employees.
BCS currently uses the state mandated SIS, Chalkable InformationNOW to maintain student records. Parents have access to a parent portal in order to view information on their child’s grades, attendance and discipline. Our department trains the technology coordinator at each school to provide support for parents on the use of the parent portal. The parent portal can be reached via the website: https://inow.bhamcityschools.org/InformationNOW your child’s school will provide your username and password and any additional support that you may need.
BCS also uses Guide K12 as our GIS. This is the software used to maintain school zones. Parents can use this software to locate the schools to which their address is zoned. The software can be accessed via the website: https://app.guidek12.com/birminghamal/school_search/current/ this site does not require a username and password.
