Can I join the honors program if I am no longer an incoming freshman?
Yes, invitations are initially sent to incoming freshmen based on their ACT/SAT score and high school GPA. If
Kimbel Library and Bryan Information Commons is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the academic year. A valid CINO card is required for entry during the overnight hours.
you earn a 3.70 GPA during your first semester freshman year, you will be sent an invitation to join during your second semester.
What assistance is available in the library?
Staff and reference librarians are available to provide help with technical and research questions in person and via phone, chat or text any time of day or night. In addition, students who need more in-depth assistance can schedule a research consultation with a librarian.
What resources are available for students?
The library has a circulating collection of approximately 150,000 books, 420,000 e-books, 120,000 e-journals, 175 databases and 47,000 streaming media. PASCAL Delivers and interlibrary loan services provide fast and efficient delivery of materials not owned by the library.
What technology is available in the library?
The library lends laptops, cameras, calculators and other equipment that you may need to complete research projects. In addition, there is access to more than 250 computer workstations, and wireless color and black and white printing is available throughout the library.
What are the benefits of being in the honors program?
All honors students receive a free laptop as well as priority class registration. In addition, if you successfully complete
the program, you will be recognized during Honors Convocation and at commencement. A seal will also be placed on your diploma.
