Baxley Hall, Room 222 843.349.2019 registrar@coastal.edu coastal.edu/registrar
A hold can be placed by academic and administrative departments and can prevent you from registering for classes or obtaining transcripts. To see if you have a hold on your record, log into WebAdvisor and click on “View Person Holds / Restrictions” under the Communication section.
 OFFICE OF THE REGISTRAR
What is an academic hold?
The Office of the Registrar is a student and faculty service office responsible for the management of academic records and the coordination and facilitation of course registration.
For what is this office responsible?
I have a hold on my record. Can I still register for classes?
It depends on the type of hold. When you view the hold type on WebAdvisor, you will be able to view the restrictions associated with it.
TUTORING AND LEARNING CENTER
Kearns Hall, Rooms 203, 204, 205 843.349.6536 coastal.edu/tutoring
What services and programs are offered by the Tutoring and Learning Center?
Peer tutoring is available, free of charge,
at the Math Learning Center, Foreign Language Instructional Center and Writing Center. Appointments are recommended for the Writing Center and Foreign Language Instructional Center; however, math tutors are always available during operating hours to assist you in the Math Center.
I need to order a transcript. How can I do that?
To view your unofficial transcript, you can log into WebAdvisor and click on “View Your Unofficial Transcript” under the Academic Profile section. If you need to order an official transcript, you can do so under the same section on WebAdvisor.
Will the University provide grades to my family members?
Grades cannot be provided without prior signed consent from the student. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act (FERPA) is a federal law that governs the disclosure of student educational records and prevents the University from releasing transcripts, grade information or any other educational record information not defined as directory information to parents or guardian without prior signed consent from the student.
I need to verify that I am enrolled at Coastal Carolina. How can I do that? The National Student Clearinghouse is Coastal Carolina University’s authorized agent for providing enrollment verifications, and you may access the Clearinghouse through WebAdvisor. After linking to the Clearinghouse, you may print out an official advance registration, current semester, or total semester history enrollment verification.
