See an academic counselor to help you identify the major-specific courses and/or general education courses needed to meet your educational goals
Visit the Transfer and Career Center and meet with college/university representatives to select specific courses for your field of interest
Visit the Transfer and Career Center regarding deadline dates to submit four-year college and university admissions applications
CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Career & Technical Education (CTE) prepares students for employment (Entry Pathways) in a career major or concentration. CTE offers programs for all kinds of students, from high school graduates looking to start a career, to those who want to work toward transferring to a four-year college or university. Many students enroll in courses to upgrade their skills or develop new skills for different positions in the workforce. Careers in Technical Education can mean high wages, good benefits, financial security, job security and opportunity for advancement.
CTE courses are occupationally specific and technical in nature. There are 14 occupational programs offered: administration of justice, automotive collision repair/painting, automotive technology, business, childhood education, commercial music, computer and information technology, fashion, fire and emergency technology, heating, ventilation & air conditioning, machine tool technology/aerospace fastener, manufacturing technology/robotics, nursing, real estate, sign language/interpreter training, welding, cosmetology, and fire academy.

CHILD DEVELOPMENT TRAINING CONSORTIUM (CDTC)
Compton College Child Development Center offers the Child Development Training Consortium (CDTC) program. This program funds specific educational costs at 96 community colleges throughout California. Access to this program is available to eligible students who are pursuing careers in child care and development through the CDTC campus coordinator designated at Compton College.
CDTC is a statewide program funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) with federal Child Care and Development Quality Improvement funds. The program is administered by the Yosemite Community College District and serves all of California. The project was designed to assist personnel employed in agencies funded by the CDE/CDD to meet the requirements of the California Children’s Center Instructional and Supervision Permits. The staff development project is designed to help students increase their knowledge and develop professionally in the child care industry.
