                STEP 5: FILE AN ADMISSIONS APPLICATION TO UNIVERSITIES
Apply to multiple campuses; “don’t put all of your eggs in one basket.” Be aware of the priority application filing deadlines and apply early. Apply online.
STEP 6: FILE FOR GE CERTIFICATION IN ADMISSIONS
If you will have the CSU GE pattern or the IGETC completed before transferring to the university, request CSU or IGETC general education certification at the Records Window. The request should be made during your last semester at Compton College, after you have been admitted to universities and have decided where you will enroll.
WELCOME CENTER
The Welcome Center at Compton College is supported by both the academic and student affairs departments and maintains a student-first philosophy. The Welcome Center helps students transition to college by offering a wide array of services designed to accommodate students’ needs in a one-stop location that promotes student success and retention in a nurturing and welcoming environment.
The Welcome Center offers campus tours and informational presentations for prospective students. It provides general information regarding college programs, access to computers, student services, course information, office hours, locations and directions to and within Compton College. It also provides students with quick access to academic schedules and various campus publications.
All visitors are encouraged to stop by the Welcome Center to pick up a Compton College map and information about the academic opportunities available for students and members of the community.
