El Camino College has many scholarship opportunities. You can also click on “Scholarship Application” through the MyECC portal.
What is the difference between the College Catalog and the Schedule of Classes?
The College Catalog is a detailed publication of college policies, regulations, El Camino College major requirements and course descriptions of every class offered at El Camino College. The Schedule of Classes provides information about courses being taught during a specific semester, including time, day, units, etc.
Are you undecided about your college goals?
More than half of the students who attend community colleges are not sure about their educational and career goals. If you find yourself in this category we have many ways you can start to make a choice about your goals. Here are some steps that you can take:
 Visit the Career Center (inside the Counseling and Student Success Center) to do career exploration on your own.
 Make an appointment with a career counselor to identify possible majors or careers.
 Enroll in a Human Development 5 course.
 Become involved in campus activities or volunteer work.
 Conduct informational interviews with people who are in your career field of interest.
Are you exploring possible majors and careers?
Many students find themselves in this category. Typical college students switch their major three or four times before they choose one major to get their degree. Here are some tips on how to explore majors:
 Do research in the Career Center.
 Work with a career counselor to identify possible majors or careers.
 Enroll in Human Development 5 course.
 Enroll in introductory courses related to the career or major you are considering.
 Seek out volunteer experiences, internships or job shadowing opportunities.
 Conduct informational interviews with people who are in your career field of interest.
