faculty on fellowship and grant opportunities for overseas study and research; it also coordinates activities for the Peace Corps Prep Certificate Program. Education Abroad activities seek to increase access to global engagement not only through global travel, but also through virtual exchanges and other opportunities that provide a global experience with or without the need for physical travel.
International Student Services: The office is responsible for providing a
full suite of support services to international students, scholars and their dependents. These services include issuance of forms I-20 and DS-2019 for F and J visa non-immigrant visa holders, reporting and record maintenance in SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System), providing pre-arrival and onboarding support to international students, implementing programs and activities that support cultural adjustment and transition to life in the U.S.,
and signature events such as International Education Week and the Festival of Nations. The office is also responsible for the International Integration Initiative (I3 @ FAU), which facilitates integration of international students into FAU campus life, and targets programming that allows U.S. and international student opportunities for learning and interactions.
Intensive English Institute: This department provides instruction in all areas of academic English for International students and scholars. The academic track offers conditional admission to qualified international applicants for admission to FAU. Additionally, the department collaborates with the College of Education and the College of Arts and Letters to offer research and experiential learning opportunities to graduate and undergraduate students.
Global Academic Services: This unit is responsible for facilitating several processes that support international and global functions at the university: Foreign Credential Evaluations (in-house services for evaluating academic credentials obtained at non-U.S. institutions); Sponsored Student Services (advising and support for international students who receive sponsorship
from their home governments); and International Alumni Engagement (a new initiative to connect with international graduates who wish to remain connected with the Center for Global Engagement
International Employee and Scholar Services: This provides regulatory guidance and overall support to FAU departments who seek to sponsor foreign nationals requiring visa sponsorship, or who plan to invite international researchers, faculty and interns to participate in academic opportunities at FAU.
