o If you are planning to transfer to a CSU, then follow the CSU GE Breadth
pattern.
o If you are planning to transfer to a UC or you are undecided, then follow
the IGETC pattern.
o If you are not planning to transfer, then follow IVC’s AA/AS GE pattern. The CSU GE Breadth, IGETC, and AA/AS general education patterns are available in the online IVC catalog, Counseling Department and Transfer Center.
• Take major courses.
o Go to assist.org and select a CSU or UC you are interested in

major that you need to complete at IVC.

then refer to the IVC catalog for a list of major requirements.
• Take personal interest courses. Take courses that you have an interest in
such as drawing, painting, computer programming, Spanish, etc.
• Have a counselor review your courses. Call (949) 451-5319 to schedule an
appointment or you can directly select one by going to students.ivc.edu/counselingcenter/.
