Special Events
Each semester there will be special events planned that are open to all students, faculty, and staff. In the fall and spring the HPE and Recreational Sports departments hold a 3-mile run/walk. LSC-North Harris also participates in a fun-filled day of sports at an area college, competing in such as volleyball, basketball, racquetball, tennis, table tennis, bowling, golf, billiards, and softball. For details on these and other events, watch for fliers or contact Recreational Sports.
Community Memberships
All students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of the community membership program for their family members at only $30 per semester. Family members are also eligible to participate in all recreational sports events held during the semester.
Mascot
We are the LSC-North Harris Hurricanes! Cat 5, the strongest and fiercest of hurricanes, is the name of our mascot. Look for Cat 5 at events on and off campus and come say hello. The Office of Diversity Initiatives was established to support and facilitate cultural opportunities for students by upholding the campus as a welcoming and inclusive learning environment. This office leads a variety of programs that promote respect and valued experiences for all individuals in efforts to build cultural competence, awareness, and expression. Programs include:
