The Northeast State Police Department is responsible for overall
security on all Northeast State property owned, controlled, or leased by
the College and has a close working relationship with local law
enforcement agencies, as well as the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and other Federal agencies.
The Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, and the full-time armed
Campus Police officers are sworn law enforcement officers and as such
have the duty and authority to enforce Tennessee state laws including
detention and arrest on any College property. Additional Security
officers assist Campus Police at all Northeast State campuses.
Generally, officers are available to help students at the Blountville,
Bristol, Elizabethton, Gray, Johnson City, and Kingsport campuses.
