Step 2—Apply for Financial Aid
Mt. SAC offers a variety of financial aid programs funded
by multiple sources that may assist you in paying for
your education including but not limited to grants, fee
waivers, work-study opportunities, scholarships, and

Step 3—Attend Placement Test
Information Sessions
Sessions assist students in understanding the
placement process and how to select the appropriate
test. An overview of sample test questions will

Step 4—Take Placement Test
The assessment and placement process has been
established to enable all students an opportunity to be

Step 5—Attend New Student Orientation
At orientation, a counselor will review placement test
scores and help you select your courses based on your
test scores. Counselors will also review registration,
campus resources, tutoring services, and type of
degrees. You will also create a Mountie Academic Plan

Step 6—Get Counseling
Counselors are available to help if you:
a. Are undecided about your major or career goal,
b. Need assistance in planning your educational and/or
career goal,

Step 7-How to Register
Register online, based on your assigned registration

Step 8-Pay Fees
You can pay your fees online with a credit card
(MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) or in
person at the Bursar’s Office (Lower Level-Bldg 4). Fess

Student Success and Support Program
Recognizing that student success is the responsibility of both the college and the student, the Student Success and
Support Program was established to assure that students who attend a California Community College are given the
best possible opportunity to succeed in accomplishing their academic goals. To accomplish this, the college will assure
that appropriate services are provided to students that will enhance their success. As a student, you must identify your
academic goal and course of study as well as complete required cores services including Assessment, Orientation and
