Are you an Asian American or Pacific Islander (AAPI that is interested receiving additional support to help you succeed in
college? This program is for you!
The Arise Program, funded by the Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) federal
grant program, provides additional support for AAPI and other participating students.
Program activities include:
• Counseling and educational advisement to support academic progression (Arise Guided Pathways)
• Resource referral for English language development needs
• Study Hall and tutoring (English and math)
• Academic support for basic skills development (e.g., math boot camp)
• Educational activities (career and educational planning workshops, university fieldtrips)
• Annual Student leadership retreat
• AAPI cultural heritage awareness (fale fono, culturally-oriented workshops, events and fieldtrips)
• Digital Storytelling Project
The goal of the program is to assist Asian American and Pacific Islander students to successfully attain their educational
goals and recognize their valuable contributions to the campus community as AAPI students and student leaders. Visit www.

Aspire Program

Are you an African-American student that is interested in receiving additional support to help you achieve your academic and
personal goals? This program is for you!
Aspire is a student success program designed to enrich the experience of African-American students and other students
at Mt. San Antonio College through counseling, instruction, mentoring, and community building. Aspire’s primary focus is
to equip you with the resources to boost your academic performance and help you reach your goals at Mt. SAC, whether
that’s graduating with an associate degree or transferring to a university to earn your bachelor’s. Aspire students perform
better, because they learn how to get the most from their college experience. The Aspire program has staff who encourages
and motivates students to achieve their personal potential. Aspire students bond together as a “community” by sharing
experiences and participating in college tours, success workshops, tutoring, and lots of fun campus activities.

Not sure if you should take Pre-Algebra or Pre-Calculus? You might need help making the right choices and that’s why Mt.
SAC requires new students to complete English, reading, and math placement tests at this office. To make an appointment
to take the test, please go to
. You may also call or visit the Assessment Center. Assistance in
reviewing course placement is also provided.

Are you interested in learning in a community environment in which peers and staff help you succeed? Do you want to
increase your chances of succeeding in English and Math? This program is for you!
Bridge is an excellent learning communities program that provides specialized classes and counseling designed to increase
students’ success. Bridge creates a unique and cooperative learning environment between students, professors, counselors,
and other critical resources on campus. The Bridge Program offers learning communities in: English, math, counseling, and
other general education courses.
