Students’ Responsibilities
Responsibility as defined by the dictionary: 1a: the quality or state of being responsible as, a moral, legal or mental accountability b: reliability, trustworthiness 2. something for which one is responsible.
You have the responsibility to:
• Read the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Maricopa Community
College District and South Mountain Community College
• Adhere to the conduct that is stated in the SMCC Planner; to act in a manner that
does not cause concern for the health and safety of yourself and other students
• Exhibit adult behavior at all times
• Read and understand the course syllabus to find out the attendance,
• grading and course expectations, as well as instructor availability
• Complete work without fraud or deceit
• Follow college regulations against unlawful acts as stated in the
• Planner and in the laws of Arizona and the United States
• Know the correct procedure concerning withdrawals and refund policies
• Being aware of the resources provided by the college such as advisement and
tutoring
• Participate in your learning process
• Uphold all your financial obligations
• Maintain a visually attractive campus
