WEB 210 Web Design (2-2-3)
Prerequisite: WEB 110
This course introduces intermediate to advanced web design techniques. Topics include
customer expectations, advanced markup language, multimedia technologies, usability and accessibility practices, and techniques for the evaluation of web design. Upon comple- tion, students should be able to employ advanced design techniques to create high impact and highly functional web sites.
WEB 213 Internet Mkt. & Analytics (2-2-3)
This course introduces students to Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and web analytics. Topics include Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay Per Click advertising (PPC), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), web analytics, eye-tracking software and email marketing. Upon completion, students should be able to set up, moni- tor and maintain SEO optimized websites; and develop strategies for online marketing and advertising plans.
WEB 225 Content Management Systems (2-2-3)
This course introduces students to Content Management Systems (CMS) designed
for the publication of Web content to Web sites. Topics include individual user accounts, administration menus, RSS-feeds, customizable layout, exible account privileges, logging, blogging systems, creating online forums, and modules. Upon completion, students should be able to register and maintain individual user accounts and create a business website and/or an interactive community website.
WELDING
WLD 110 Cutting Processes (1-3-2)
This course introduces oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cutting systems. Topics include safety, proper equipment setup, and operation of oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cutting equipment with emphasis on straight line, curve and bevel cutting. Upon completion, students should be able to oxy-fuel and plasma-arc cut metals of varying thickness.
WLD 111 Oxy-Fuel Welding (1-3-2)
Corequisite: WLD 110
This course introduces the oxy-fuel welding process. Topics include safety, proper equip-
ment setup, and operation of oxy-fuel welding equipment with emphasis on bead application, pro le, and discontinuities. Upon completion, students should be able to oxy-fuel weld llets and grooves on plate and pipe in various positions.
WLD 115 SMAW (Stick) Plate (2-9-5)
This course introduces the shielded metal arc (stick) welding process. Emphasis is placed on padding, llet, and groove welds in various positions with SMAW electrodes. Upon comple- tion, students should be able to perform SMAW llet and groove welds on carbon plate with prescribed electrodes.
WLD 116 SMAW (Stick) Plate/Pipe (1-9-4)
Prerequisite: WLD 115
This course is designed to enhance skills with the shielded metal arc (stick) welding process.
Emphasis is placed on advancing manipulative skills with SMAW electrodes on varying joint geometry. Upon completion, students should be able to perform groove welds on carbon steel with prescribed electrodes in the at, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
