The CARE (Consultation, Advocacy, Resources and Education) Department, under the AVP for Student Support, is here to assist students facing challenges at UTEP. Whether you need victim advocacy, emergency funds, food assistance, or help with personal concerns, we’ve got your back. Our wraparound services are available to help direct you toward possible solutions to concerns you may have.

Our Miner Support Advocates help students navigate university policies, academic concerns, and personal challenges. While they’re not clini- cians, they can connect you to mental health professionals at the Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) or the TimelyCare App if needed.

UTEPCARE
Consultation, Advocacy, Resources & Education (CARE) supports students, staff, and faculty impacted by harm (physical, sexual, financial, or emotional) through advocacy, case management, and supportive services.
CAMPUS ADVOCACY
CARE offers private support, resources, and guidance to those affected by violence or crime. Services include:
• A safe space to discuss concerns and experiences
• Assistance with the university disciplinary process and accommodations (academic, housing, parking)
• Guidance on campus and community resources, with accompaniment
• Support navigating the criminal justice process, if applicable
EDUCATION
CARE collaborates with campus and community partners to promote awareness and prevention of interpersonal violence. Workshops include:
• Recognizing Unhealthy or Abusive Relationships
• Do One Thing (DOT) Bystander Intervention • Custom topics upon request
