The Student Government Association (SGA) is
the official voice of UTEP students, advocating for student interests and shaping policies that impact campus life. We collaborate closely with university leadership to enhance the student experience, fund student initiatives, and amplify student concerns. SGA also host an annual President’s Dinner to recognize student leaders on campus.
SGA Overview:
• Advocate for students and represent at all levels of university decision-making.
• Fund student organizations & initiatives for events, conferences, and projects.
• Plan impactful programs & events to
engage, support, and inform Miners.
• Provide leadership opportunities through
our EXCEL program, mentoring future student leaders.
SGA is made up of three branches:
• Executive – Led by the SGA President & Vice Presidents, overseeing initiatives and student outreach.
• Legislative – A team of 25+ members, representing the student body, hosting projects, and approving funding requests.
• Judicial – Handles internal conflicts and student appeals through the Supreme Court
