Student Media and Publications provides a profes- sional, hands-on work experience for self-motivated students who wish to pursue a career in multimedia journalism, advertising and graphic design. The department has produced some of the finest mul- timedia professionals in the region and the country. The department publishes the student newspaper, The Prospector, in digital and print formats. Through The Prospector’s website,
www.theprospectordaily.com , students provide the campus community with the most up-to- date news, opinions, entertainment and sports from campus and around the community. The Prospector’s print edition is published monthly on Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters. The Prospector produces a weekly e-newsletter as well as a biweekly podcast to keep the community informed, engaged and entertained.
Student Media and Publications also publishes a student-run bilingual magazine. Minero Magazine is published once every fall and spring semester and provides a venue for celebrating the Univer- sity’s diverse culture while filling a rapidly growing need for bilingual and bicultural journalists.
