Through The Prospector’s website, www.theprospectordaily.com , students provide the campus community with the most up-to- date news, opinions, entertainment and sports from campus and around the community. The Prospector’s print edition is published biweekly on Tuesdays during the fall and spring semesters. The Prospector produces a weekly e-newsletter as well as a biweekly podcast to keep the com- munity informed, engaged and entertained.
Student Media and Publications also publishes a student-run bilingual magazine. Minero Magazine is published once every fall and spring semester and provides a venue for celebrating the Univer- sity’s diverse culture while filling a rapidly growing need for bilingual and bicultural journalists. Student Media and Publications is made up of an average of 30 UTEP students. Both publications have received local, regional and national awards consistently over the years.

The Union Building has been the epicenter of campus life since 1949, providing innovative, high-quality facilities and services while serving as a unifying force that honors each individual and values diversity. The following are just some of the amenities and services available to UTEP students at the Union Building:
STUDENT LOUNGES
The Miners Lounge offers plenty of seating for groups and individuals while the Bhutan Lounge provides a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere.
Additional lounges and seating areas are available throughout the building.
CYBER CAFÉ
The Cyber Café offers computer software and hardware for your classwork. Printing and other services are available.
UNION CINEMA
The Union Cinema offers state-of-the-art HD projection and surround sound for classes, stu- dent organization meetings, and other events.
UNION GALLERY
The Union Gallery hosts a variety of exhibits and events throughout the semester.
UNION SERVICES
Building maintenance, lost and found, room reservations, and technical support for the Union Building and the El Paso Natural Gas Conference Center are managed by Union Services.
UNION PLAZA
Between the Union Buildings East and West lies the Union Plaza, a large paved outdoor space which provides shaded seating areas and an open-air stage for events.
