Financial Aid Disbursements
There will be three financial aid disbursements for 2019-2020 per fall and spring semester. Check the Financial Aid website for disbursement dates and information. The disbursement percentages are:

Kern Community College District has partnered with BankMobile to deliver financial aid refunds to students. BankMobile offers three options: 1) Direct Deposit into the BankMobile Vibe account and card; 2) Direct Deposit into a student’s existing account; and 3) paper check.

Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS)
EOPS is a state-funded program designed to provide academic support, financial assistance and encouragement for first generation, low income, and educationally disadvantaged students. The goal of the program is to help eligible students meet their educational objectives, whether they seek occupational certificates, associate degrees, or transfer to four-year institutions. To be eligible for the program, students must 1) Submit a financial aid application, 2) Qualify to receive the California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the BOGW) "A", "B" or "C w/EFC=0", 3) Be a California Resident; 4) Not earned an AA/BA Degree or more than 24 Degree Applicable units completed; 5) Educationally Disadvantaged as determined by EOPS Guidelines, 6) Enrolled in at least 12 units at Bakersfield College; and 7) Complete an EOPS application and attend a mandatory EOPS Orientation. Services provided include Priority Registration, Counseling, Educational and Career Planning, Book Vouchers, Grants, Tutoring, University Campus Visits, Cap & Gown, and more.
Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)
As a supplemental component, EOPS runs a state-funded program to provide additional support for BC's single parent population. The CARE program serves low-income single parent students who receive cash aid from CalWORKs/TANF/Tribal TANF. In addition to receiving the EOPS services, financial assistance and childcare may be awarded to CARE students as a means of strengthening the retention, persistence, graduation, and transfer rates of these individuals. Students participating in CARE may choose to pursue vocational certificate or license, associate degree, or transfer to four-year universities.
Cooperating Agencies Foster Youth Educational Support (NextUp)
NextUp, a supplemental, categorical component of EOPS, provides service coordination, counseling, tutoring, career guidance, meal vouchers, childcare, transportation assistance, and grants to assist with housing and other non-tuition costs. NextUp supports the higher education success, health and well-being with a primary goal to encourage enrollment, retention, and transfer of current and former foster youth enrolled at Bakersfield College. Students must meet the following criteria: 1) in foster care on or after the age of 16, 2) enrolled in 9 units upon entering the program, 3) under the age of 26, 4) a California resident for more than one year or eligible for non-resident tuition waiver, and 5) qualify for the California College Promise Grant (formerly known as the BOGW).
California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
CalWORKs at Bakersfield College is California's Welfare plan in response to Federal TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) Program. BC’s CalWORKs educational support program provides education, employment training, support services and work-study opportunities to increase wage-earning power that leads to self-sufficiency. The CalWORKs program serves low-income parent students who receive cash aid from CalWORKs/TANF.
California Student Opportunities & Access Program (Cal-SOAP)
Cal-SOAP is a statewide program designed to increase the number of students attending college. The mission of Cal-SOAP is to provide students with academic support, advisement and access to information about postsecondary education and financial aid. The program serves students who are from low-income families, will be the first in their family to attend college, or
