Bakersfield College’s Veterans Resource Center (VRC) assists student veterans as they transition from military service to academic success. The VRC promotes the academic, personal and professional development of student veterans, reservists, members of the National Guard and their dependents through supportive services, resources and community building events.
The Veterans Resource Center provides comprehensive support for student veterans and active duty service members to meet their unique academic needs. VRC also provides faculty and administrators with resources and information to support the student veteran community. VRC has information about organizations that is specific to the needs of veterans throughout the community in our resource center, and some of the services are offered on campus for accessibility.
The VRC staff can assist veterans, service members, and their families. VRC provides a student lounge for meeting other vets, eating lunch, or just relaxing between classes. VRC also provides assistance in applying for educational benefits, financial aid, and for admission to Bakersfield College.
