REQUIRED SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT PROVISIONS School Responsibilities
The F.A.C.E. School will:
1. Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating children to meet the State’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
The school will provide a safe and conducive, yet effective learning environment that will allow the student to grow academically. The academic and non-academic teachers will be state certified and trained in their field of study. The College and Career Readiness (CCRS) / Alabama Course of Study (ACOS) Standards will be followed in educating all students.
The school will provide and develop professional learning communities through ongoing professional development to assist teachers in addressing the different learning styles using hands-on activities (manipulatives), real-world problem-solving applications and pre-assessments.
2. Hold parent-teacher conferences (at least annually) during which this compact will be discussed as relates to individual student’s achievement. Parent conferences will be held when school opens at the beginning of the school year, during registration, and throughout the school year to ensure that parents are made aware of the elements of this compact.
3. Provide Parents with frequent reports on their children’s progress.
We will provide weekly written reports, mid-nine-week progress reports, nine week report card, district mark-test reports, and state accountability reports.
4. Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
We will be available for consultation with parents before, during, and after the regular school day. We will have preset teacher planning periods and other suitable times upon parent request.
5. Provide parents opportunities to volunteer and participate in classrooms, and to observe classroom activities.
We will provide invitations for parents to volunteer at the start of the school year, during PTA meetings, parent teacher conferences, open house, and other scheduled events during the school year.
6. Ensure regular two-way, meaningful communication between family members and school staff and, to the extent practicable, in a language that family members can understand.
School staff will communicate regularly with parents through email, class dojo, flyers, weekly folders, phone calls, and the school website. When possible, communication will be given in English and Spanish.
