No. We encourage all students to apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.gov. The priority deadline for funding is typically March
1, prior to the academic year you will be attending; however, additional aid may be available after the priority deadline.
Is it too late to apply for financial aid?
How many credits do I need to be enrolled in to qualify for financial aid? Depending on the loan/scholarship/ grant, there are different enrollment requirements. Check with your financial aid counselor to make sure you are enrolled in the minimum credit hours needed to receive each type of aid you qualify for.
After you file the FAFSA, you will receive
a student aid report from the federal processor with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) based on your FAFSA information. After receiving your data
and EFC, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships at CCU will offer awards based on your eligibility. Once your aid package is complete, the office will post your award information on WebAdvisor.
If you have not received your award information, check WebAdvisor to make sure all required forms have been received.
How do I qualify for financial aid?
Are there additional academic requirements to remain eligible for financial aid?
Check your class schedule against your program evaluation in WebAdvisor to verify that the classes you are taking are required for your degree program. Add the credit hours associated with your required classes to determine your enrollment status. Classes that do not fulfill core, foundation, major or REQUIRED elective requirements within your degree program are NOT counted when determining your enrollment status for federal aid eligibility.
You can decline awards online at WebAdvisor. Generally, grant and scholarship funding is automatically accepted for students; however, we always recommend reviewing your awards to ensure that any additional requirements are satisfied. Any awards you do not decline will automatically be accepted when you pay your enrollment deposit.
How do I accept my awards online?
When is financial aid disbursed? What happens if I have remaining funds? Financial aid is typically disbursed 10 days after the start of the semester. Check out
