UNIVERSITY HOUSING
Where do I find the policies and procedures expected of me while living on campus?
The Community Living Guide is available on our website, coastal.edu/housing/ currentresidents. In addition, you should review the housing license agreement you electronically signed when completing your housing application. Lastly, all students are expected to follow the Code of Student Conduct.
HOUSING PAYMENTS AND FINANCIAL QUESTIONS
What happens if I violate a University policy?
Any student who violates a University policy will be held responsible through the conduct process. See the Dean of Students Office section on Page 39 for more information.
All payments may be made in person at the Office of Student Accounts in Baxley Hall or through WebAdvisor.
Can I have an overnight guests while living in University Housing?
Yes, as long as your roommate(s) says it
is OK, and they are of the same gender. Residents may not have guests more
than three consecutive nights, and not more than five nights in a month. Parking passes for approved guests are provided by Public Safety. Overnight guests are prohibited during the first and last two weeks of each semester and during breaks (Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks).
Will my financial aid pay all of my housing costs?
The amount of financial aid you receive may not always cover all of your housing costs each semester. You should review the details of your financial aid package, and check your student account balance online on WebAdvisor.
Can I cancel my housing license agreement during the academic year? The license agreement you electronically signed when applying for housing is for a full academic year, which includes fall and spring semesters. Residents who withdraw during the academic year or do not enroll for the spring semester are able to request release from the agreement by completing an Intent to Vacate in MyCoastalHome.
The release fee, prorated housing and meal plan charges and damage or cleaning charges will be applied to your student account. Contact University Housing at 843.349.6400 for more information.

Am I required to live on campus?
The Office of Student Accounts generates electronic statements which include housing charges. The housing charges vary based on the community where you live. All housing fees will be displayed on your student account.
