The College exists to support you throughout your career as a student, and student organizations are no exception. Getting involved encourages academic and personal growth in many ways while creating memories with your peers. ACADEMIC ADVISING
During the first semester at the College, each student is assigned to an academic advisor. Each semester, prior to registration, it is the student’s responsibility
to meet with his/her academic advisor to discuss courses for the upcoming semester. The academic advisor serves as a valuable information resource to the student in the areas of program requirements, college graduation requirements and transfer coursework. It is important that students arrange to meet with their academic advisors BEFORE registration begins. Galesburg 309.341.5237, Carthage 217.357.3129.
ACADEMIC SUPPORT SERVICES
Academic support services provides a variety of services to all Sandburg students, including disability support, tutoring services and equipment loans. The glossary entries on disability support services and tutoring services provides more detailed information on these services. Questions on any academic support services can be directed to the coordinator of academic support services at 309.341.5262.
ATHLETICS
The intercollegiate athletic program is designed for students who wish and are able to incorporate the benefits of athletic competition into their educational experience. Sandburg is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Arrowhead Athletic Conference and the National Association of Collegiate eSports (NACE). Sandburg will offer a varsity eSports team for the first time. Esports is available as a coed sport. Intercollegiate competition is offered for men in golf, cross country, basketball, soccer and baseball; and for women in golf, cross country, volleyball, basketball and softball. BOOKSTORE
The Carl Sandburg College Bookstore is an authorized dealer for textbooks and Carl Sandburg College logo items and apparel. Textbooks may be purchased in store, online or reserved at www.shopsandburg.com. Textbooks are available for sale online and in the store three weeks prior to the start of classes. The bookstore offers a textbook rental program in which selected titles are rented for the semester. Please contact the campus bookstore for hours. The Sandburg Bookstore is located in B57 on the Main Campus in Galesburg.
