Finals Final exams occur on the 17th week of the semester for 16-week courses and in the last week of class for shorter-length classes. Your final is not necessarily scheduled at the same time your class meets. Refer to the finals schedule for the semester you’re enrolled in, and consult your instructor to confirm the date and time. Here’s an example of a finals schedule. If you believe you won’t be successful in a class, it’s often better to withdraw from the class than receive a poor grade that will become a part of your permanent record. But, you should meet with your instructor and success advocate/advisor to discuss your options prior to officially withdrawing, as this action can have other serious consequences that might affect your enrollment, financial aid or student employment status. If you’re receiving financial aid, you should speak with someone in the Financial Aid Office before you withdraw from a class to understand whether there will be an impact on your financial aid. Any student receiving VA or GI Bill benefits should contact the veteran’s coordinator prior to dropping classes for explanation of possible consequences. Refund schedule Tuition refunds are issued to eligible students based upon effective date of withdrawals. The date a written request for withdrawal is received by the Admissions and Records office determines the effective date of withdrawal.
