                ADVISING
  yyAcademic Plan--Your personal plan of how you will complete the courses on your curriculum sheet. Also referred to as an individual academic plan or IAP.
yyAcademic Probation--A student will be placed on academic probation if their cumulative GPA falls below a 2.0. An advising hold will be placed. See university catalog for complete policy.
yyAdvisor--The faculty or staff person assigned to assist you with academic planning.
yyChange of Major--When a student changes from one major to another. Must be approved by the department chair

yyCourse Schedule--A department schedule that shows when courses will be offered for the next 2-3 years.
yyCourse Substitution--The process by which to exchange a course on your curriculum sheet with another course. Must be approved by your advisor and department chair. Example: AP Calculus can be exchanged for MAT 1050 or MAT 1060.
yyCurriculum Sheet--A list of all the courses you must complete to graduate with a degree in your major.
yyDegree Progress Report--A Bronco Direct page that lists all the courses on your curriculum sheet and their status. Courses are color coded: green = course completed, yellow = course in progress, red = course stills needs to be completed. Also known as DPR.
yyGraduate Writing Test--A test that all students must take before they can graduate. Also known as the GWT.
yyHolds--A flag entered into Bronco Direct that does not allow you to register for classes. A hold must be cleared by the office that placed it. Example: Advising Hold = you must meet with your academic advisor and your hold cleared before you will be allowed to register for classes.

yyMandatory Advising--Some majors require that you meet with your advisor at least once a year.
yyMinors--A small cluster of courses taken outside of your major; must be declared. See College Advisor, 2-125, to declare a minor.
yyMy Planner--An online tool where you plan out how you will complete your major courses, term by term.
yyOption--A specialization within a major; shows on a transcript. Example: Major = Apparel Merchandising & Management; Options = Fashion Retailing or Apparel Production.
yyPeer Advisor--A student selected and trained to help you with basic advising questions and referrals. Located in the Student Success Center, 2-125.
yyPre-Requisite--A course you need to complete before you can take the next course. Example: BIO 1210 is a pre- requisite for BIO 1220.
yyRoadmap--An example of how to complete all your major courses in four years, semester by semester.
yySemester Conversion--The process by which CPP will convert the academic calendar from quarters to semesters; will occur fall 2018. Only affects students that were enrolled under the quarter system.
yyTrack--A specialization within a major; does not show on a transcript. Example: Major = Food Science & Technology; Tracks = Business, Culinology, Pre- Professional, or Science & Technology.
yyTransfer Credit Report--A Bronco Direct page that shows all courses and/or credit that you have completed someplace other than CPP and what credit you received when it transferred in. Example: AP English Language & Composition transfers in as ENG 1103. Also known as TCR.
