yyDon’t procrastinate! Don’t wait until the last minute to seek advising.
yyBe considerate of your advisor and understand that he/she has many advisees.
yyBe honest and respectful in interactions with your advisor.
yyDon’t believe everything you hear from your peers.
yyDon’t expect your advisor to know the answer to everything.
The Advisor:
yyActively listen to your questions and concerns and take steps to provide information and support as needed.
yyRefer you to appropriate campus services as needed.
yyDemonstrate how to use advising tools: Degree Progress Report, Transfer Credit Report, Bronco Direct, My Planner, and Assist.org.
yyCommunicate with you via your CPP email account.
yyProvide a positive and confidential environment where you can comfortably discuss academic and personal goals.
yyUnderstand and effectively communicate the curriculum, degree requirements, graduation requirements, and university policies and procedures.
yyReview your academic plan, providing
advice about courses, course loads, and
