offered in person or by telephone, email, chat, virtual office hours, or text. New in spring 2021 is the Rubin and Cindy Gruber Sandbox, a 3400 square foot, state-of- the-art artificial intelligence lab designed to serve all students from any discipline.
The University Libraries’ extensive holdings of approximately 3.7 million items include books, periodicals, government documents, microforms, maps, media and unique special collections in book arts, American Revolutionary War and Civil War documents, print and recorded music, rare books and manuscripts, and archival materials. The libraries also provide remote access to electronic resources including over 100,000 full-text electronic journals, more than 580 electronic databases, streaming videos, e-books and more.
An online catalog of library holdings provides a listing of materials in the FAU Libraries and the other 11 Florida public university libraries. Through membership in the Southeast Florida Library Information Network (SEFLIN), the collections of area libraries are available to FAU students, faculty and staff. Research materials, both digital and hard copy, not available in the FAU Libraries’ collection may be obtained locally, nationally, and globally through interlibrary loan.

The Florida Atlantic University Police Department provides a full range of public safety services 24 hours a day, seven days a week with patrols on the Boca Raton, Jupiter, Fort Lauderdale, Davie, and Harbor Branch campuses.
The FAU police department operates in accordance with the Police Standards
and Training Commission in the State of Florida. Officers are state certified, fully trained professionals who are committed to assisting the University community in all of its public safety needs.
Some services provided by the University Police include vehicle, motorcycle,
foot and bicycle patrol, criminal investigation, traffic enforcement, fingerprinting, accident investigation, special events management, crime prevention programs,
K-9 and Victim Services which provides crisis intervention, gives information about victim’s rights and helps evaluate their options. In addition:
Campus crime statistics are available online through fau.edu/police. The current police blotter, dates of upcoming self-defense classes (RAD) and educational information are also available at this website. Timely warnings or crime alerts will be posted to this site.
Anonymous Crime Reporting Program called “Silent Witness.” Individuals can provide information through the police website: fau.edu/police.
“Tips” line: Rings directly into the dispatch center which allows individuals to anonymously provide information to law enforcement concerning crime. The Tips line number is 561-297-4636. In emergencies, call 911.
“Code Blue” emergency telephones are located throughout the Boca Raton and Jupiter campuses along with Davie Campus located in Lot J & K, both monitored by Broward College Security. The HBOI campus has emergency
