GREEN RIVER JAZZ VOICES Performing Arts Center (PA), Room 136 253-833-9111, ext. 4220 Green River Jazz Voices is Green River’s award-winning vocal jazz ensemble, consisting of 12-16 auditioned singers backed by a three-piece combo and utilizing a full sound system. The group performs at college events, local and regional jazz festivals, area schools and various other performances throughout the school year. They also have opportunities to explore their solo, duet, and trio singing with "Showcase" performances in other styles such as musical theater. The group repertoire includes unique arrangements of jazz standards, blues, funk and Latin jazz as well as new treatments of familiar popular songs. Jazz Voices performs under the direction of Kelly Eisenhour. STUDENT MEDIA THE CURRENT 253-288-3457 The Current is a student-produced, award- winning multi-media online and print news source that serves the greater college community. It is led by a creative team of student- journalists who write, edit and produce content for the website (www.thegrcurrent. com) its social media platforms, and its companion newspaper. You can join the staff by enrolling in Journalism 104, 105 or 106, though taking the class isn’t a requirement for contributing at any number of levels. KGRG-FM — “YOUR HOME FOR NEW MUSIC” 89.9 FM Student Affairs (SA), Room 200 Director of Broadcast Operations We are KGRG – the campus radio station of Green River College. We are open to all students regardless of educational pathway. We are funded for the students by the students. The KGRG facilities are a living- learning laboratory simulating a real-world broadcast environment to provide students with a space for creativity and growth – to develop content and programming of their choice and interest. KGRG seeks to provide opportunities to empower students to find their voice and serve as a platform for amplification. We seek to foster lifelong communication, public speaking, workplace accountability, teamwork, and leadership skills important for successful citizenship and success in any chosen career. We are a student-centered public media organization that provides market-driven programming and a voice to all students at Green River College. KGRG 1 — YOUR CLASSIC ALTERNATIVE 1330 AM Student Affairs (SA), Room 200 Faculty Advisor, 253-833-9111 ext. 2190 Student-operated all-digital KGRG 1, Your Classic Alternative, broadcasts the monster bands and hits from Seattle’s glory days as the center of alternative music. The non-commercial station broadcasts 24/7 throughout south King and north Pierce counties. The station also broadcasts at 89.9FM HD2, streams at kgrg1.com, and 149 149
