The Current is a student-produced, award-winning multi-media online and print news source that serves the greater college community.
It is led by a creative team of student-journalists who write, edit and produce the website (www. thegrcurrent.com) and its companion newspaper. You can join the staff by enrolling in Journalism 104, 105 or 106, though taking the class isn’t
a requirement for contributing at any number of levels.

Operated 24 hours a day by students enrolled
in the college’s broadcast classes, KGRG-FM
is a heritage non-commercial radio station broadcasting in high definition. The award-winning station plays “Today’s Rock” with a number of specialty shows featuring a wide variety of college alternative music. KGRG-FM is one of the most listened-to college stations on iHeartRadio. KGRG-FM streams at kgrg.com, and can be heard worldwide on the KGRG-FM app
and at TuneIn.

Green River Theatre Company is the performing arm of the Drama Department at Green River College. We produce three fully-staged, student performed productions each year. Participation
is by audition and enrollment in the DRMA 111 sequence of classes. Our repertory consists of a mix of comedies, dramas, contemporary and classical plays and musicals. Students performing in our productions are eligible for nomination to compete in the Irene Ryan Acting Competition through
the Region 7 Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival each year. We offer free admission to all Green River students to the plays, and a nominal admission charge to the musical.
The Drama Department offers a wide range of course offerings including acting, improvisation, stage combat, and theatre history
each and every quarter.
GREEN RIVER JAZZ VOICES

Green River Jazz Voices is Green River’s award- winning vocal jazz ensemble, consisting of 12
-16 auditioned singers backed by a three-piece combo and utilizing a full sound system. The group performs at college events, local and regional
jazz festivals, area schools and various other performances throughout the school year. Their repertoire includes unique arrangements of jazz standards, blues, funk and Latin jazz as well as new treatments of familiar popular songs. Jazz Voices performs under the direction of Kelly Eisenhour.
