Student-operated all-digital KGRG 1, Your Classic Alternative, broadcasts the monster bands and hits from Seattle’s glory days as the center of alternative music. The non-commercial station broadcasts 24/7 throughout south King and north Pierce counties. The station also broadcasts at 89.9FM HD2, streams at kgrg1.com, and can be heard worldwide on the KGRG1 app, at iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. TUTORING AND RESOURCE CENTER

The Tutoring and Resource Center provides free one-on-one tutoring in most disciplines, with the exception of Math and English.
Tutors are hired by a recommendation from faculty. Tutors receive training and are supervised by a member of the college’s staff. Tutors work with students on special problems and organize study groups, and skill-practice training sessions.
The center also provides a computer lab. and refers students to other college resources. Tutoring is also available online.
MATH LEARNING CENTER

The Math Learning Center (MLC) welcomes you to visit our peer tutors for either in-person tutoring or for virtual/online tutoring. Large study tables and a network of computers with math and math-related software are available for students to use.
Students may request information about the tutoring schedule or about renting graphing calculators by contacting the MLC coordinator, Adrienne Palmer, at apalmer@greenriver.edu.
PUBLIC SPEAKING CENTER

The Communication Studies Department is dedicated to promoting effective public speaking across campus. The goal of the Speaking Center is to help public speakers develop skills and confidence while easing anxiety.
The Public Speaking Center provides feedback
to students, faculty, staff and alumni prior to their speeches or presentations; offers one-on-one coaching from trained Communication Studies Instructors for any step of the speech making process, including interview preparation; and provides opportunities for practice and advice about techniques that will make a speaker’s delivery more effective.
Additionally, the Public Speaking Center provides the opportunity for speeches to be recorded. Speakers will have access to their own recorded performance for personal review. To sign up or cancel practice times visit greenriver.edu/psc.
