                LIFE SCHOLARSHIP REMINDERS

Student Initial Eligibility
§ Must be a South Carolina resident and US Citizen/Legal Permanent Resident at the time of graduation from an SC high school
§ Provide an official final high school transcript after graduation.
§ Must enroll in at least 12 credit hours of college-level, LIFE eligible courses each
semester. Remedial courses will not count towards the LIFE scholarship.
§ LIFE Scholarships can be used for:
o Two semesters for a certificate or diploma program;
o Four semesters for an Associate degree program consisting of less than 68
credit hours;
o Six semesters for an Associate degree program consisting of 68 or more credit
hours;
o Eight semesters for a Bachelor’s degree program.
§ Must earn 30 hours of college-level LIFE credits each academic year (includes fall, spring, and summer terms). If you start in the spring semester, you must complete a minimum of 15 combined credit hours in the spring and summer terms.
§ Must maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

§ GTC Foundation Scholarships do NOT have to be repaid!
§ Application window: Feb. 15 – May 1.
§ Awards split between fall/spring terms.
§ Requirements: Minimum 2.0 GPA, current year’s FAFSA on file; “file complete” status
with Financial Aid.
§ Apply online https://gvltec.academicworks.com/ using GTC4me user name and
password.

WORK-STUDY https://www.gvltec.edu/workstudy
To qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program, you must:
§ Complete your FAFSA for the applicable school year.
§ Complete the Work Study application.
§ Maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA and be in good standing with Financial Aid.
§ Enroll in an associate, certificate, or diploma program that requires a minimum of 16
total credit hours.
§ Enroll in at least six credit hours per semester.
