admissions.ivc.edu/forms. You must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and you will not be permitted to register for overload units until all students have had an opportunity to register for classes, typically two weeks before the semester starts.
DROP CLASSES
It is the student’s responsibility to drop or withdraw from classes. Students may drop or withdraw online through their MySite account. Only those drops completed prior to refund deadlines are eligible for refund consideration.
DEADLINES FOR DROPPING: Check the online class schedule for exact drop deadlines for each course you enroll in! It is listed under “Details” of the ticket number.
NOTE: For students receiving Financial Aid, all transcript recordings of “W” will be counted as units attempted and will be assessed toward their total unit limit of 90 units.
REPEAT COURSES
Most courses may be repeated twice when the student has earned a substandard grade (“D,” “F,” “FW”, or “NP”).
To suppress a substandard grade, the student can retake the same course at Irvine Valley College or take the equivalent course at other regionally accredited colleges. Course equivalency will be determined by the college (see an IVC counselor for verifying equivalencies). Only the most recent course grade earned will be used in calculating the student’s grade point average. Irvine Valley College cannot provide assurance that repeated courses will be treated in this way by other institutions.
TAKE A COURSE AS PASS (P) and NO PASS (NP)
You may select the P/NP option in MySite. Before choosing this option, you are strongly encouraged to speak with a college counselor. There could be transfer implications and limitations to consider when selecting P/NP grading.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY TO DROP CLASSES
You MUST drop classes by the deadline dates to avoid fee charges. Drop dates are available in the online class schedule under “Details” of the course’s ticket number in which you are enrolled. You can drop online via MySite.
